Choosing A Contractor

Below are questions to ask when choosing a contractor:

  • Is hardscaping the company’s primary business?
  • Is the contractor licensed and able to secure building permits, if needed?
  • Is the contractor adequately insured for liability?
  • Are the contractor and his employees covered by workers compensation?
  • Is the contractor a member of the Better Business Bureau?
  • Does the contractor meet or exceed O.D.O.T and A.S.T.M. standards?
  • Is the contractor financially secure, or are they asking for money down?
  • Does the contractor begin and complete my project before beginning someone else’s?
  • Will an owner be involved in the installation process of the project?
  • How does the contractor communicate with their customers?
  • Will the contractor be around next year should you need them?
  • Does the contractor guarantee all these things in writing?
